Challenge #2

Don't waste your time hating people, things, and/or places... Hate, hate. Not anything else. We can accomplish more if we do one thing at a time than nothing at all. Every small move counts. Whether it is passing on a smile, sharing positive advice, or lending a helping hand to others... it counts! The opportunities are endless. Don't wait for it, start now!

Question of the day: What have you done today to help others?

Challenge #1

Challenge of the day:

Refrain from loving "things" and focus on loving people. How many times a day do you find yourself saying "I love this TV show" or "I love these shoes"? I bet if you actually count the times, you will loose track. We weren't made to love things, we were made to love one another. So today, take some time to let those who are important to you know how much you love them. That is real love! The rest is just plastic.

Separate Yourself.

It is becoming harder for people to identify themselves and truly be who they want to be. The pressure in today's society to be a certain way, act a certain way, and dress a certain way is overwhelming. People of all ages are forgetting who they truly are and who they want to become. Try to not get caught up in the web of following these trends that might not necessarily be something you would follow if it was not trending. Instead, focus on who you are and find out what sets you apart from the rest. In the end, this is what will differentiate you from the noise.

Trends dissolve over time, but your personality will continue!

In a world so busy, how are you standing out?

Green.

Don't waste your time wondering if the grass is greener on the other side. Don't get stuck trying to figure out if someone else is producing more crops than you. Instead, worry about what you can do to get yours to that point. Most importantly, focus on what you can do to maintain your grass green and your crops growing.

Enjoy The Fall.

Don't waste time worrying about when or how you will fall. Enjoy your time and if you trip and fall, simply get back up and try again! At least next time you will  know where you went wrong and what you can do to improve.

Remember: Without any falls, there would be no room to grow!

Planning.

If you do not have a plan for what you are trying to accomplish, chances are you will never get there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with creating a road map of where you want to go. Being aware of what you want to accomplish and how you plan to get there are crucial steps and most likely the most important ones in the process. Having your goals mapped out from the start will help you stay on track and will bring you back around if you ever get lost.

Top 2 Questions-
What are you trying to accomplish?
How are you planning to accomplish it?

Remember: When you leave your house and you get in the car, you already know where you are going. You know what highways to take, what turns to make, and sometimes what streets to turn on to avoid traffic. You don't get in the car and just start driving hoping that the car will take you to your destination.

The truth is that everyone plans, most of the time we don't even notice it! Learn to become alert of your planning and you will become better at it, resulting in a higher percentage of goals achieved.

Turbulence.

There are several things in life that you can control and plenty that you cannot.
Just like when you travel by airplane, in life, you  might have a smooth ride or a pretty shaky one. For the most part you can't always predict how the ride will be, but thats ok. Why is it ok? Because if you cannot control the ride, you can at least control how you will react.
Always remember that even when life gets shaky, you can still manage to get by. Everything is temporary and what today might seem endless, will eventually pass. Likewise when experiencing a smooth path in life... enjoy every second of it, because you never know when you might hit some turbulence!
Try to live in the present but always think about the future, especially when experiencing a tough situation. If you focus on what will come after this tough time, you will be able to remain strong and get through it.

Remember: some people might react to turbulence differently than you. You might know of people who barely even notice it and others who are just constantly waiting for it to happen. There is no right or wrong way on how to handle turbulence as long as you find a way to get through it.

How are you handling the turbulence in your life?

Practice Makes Perfect.

In the end, it is not about how long it took you to get there... it is about the experiences you went through and what you learned. When people fail at something they often get discouraged and tend to quit, however, the majority of the people who became masters at something failed multiple times.
Take each failure as a lesson to get better for the next time and never forget everyday that passes you get closer to your goal.

What Do You Choose?

Happiness is optional. It is an act you choose to feel, follow, and pass on to others, however, you have to want it to have it.

Being happy is easier than you think and while most people might consider happiness found in big situations, it is often found in the smallest things in life. All you have to do sometimes, is look around! Cherish every second, every moment, and every memory.

There will be times in life when we might feel unhappy and it is then when we must take a moment to pick ourselves up. Nobody else will do it, nobody else will know how you feel inside... it is up to you to want to be happy! Just remember, once you find yourself in a happy place, share it with someone else!

'Tis the Season

Merry Christmas!

Be kind, love, & rejoice in life; the gift from God.

#JoyToTheWorld

What Is Love?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

Imperfection.

Is truly what makes you beautiful. Nobody is perfect, we all have scars. Some of these bring up happy memories and others do not.

Instead of dwelling in the past, focus on where you are now. How have those scars made you a better and stronger person?

Take a second to realize where all of those little imperfections have led you to.

Be positive and know that tomorrow morning you will have a brand new day. A new beginning to start all over again!

Moving On.

Forgetting is tough. Forgiving is tougher.

If you want to move on, you need to make sure that you are not only forgetting, but you are also forgiving along the way. You will not be at peace until you make peace.

This goes for everything in life, not just people.

Structure.

Not everyone is able to set a strong foundation for their life from the start. Some of us are better at it than others. For example: some people grab different parts of the structure at different times and build their fort of life at their own pace, while others start from the bottom up. Regardless of how you choose to build your fort, you must always remember the foundation. Without a strong base, your structure will collapse. Maybe not right away, but eventually it will weaken.

It is never too late to add a strong base to your fort. Even if your windows have already been set in place, you can still manage to set the tone of your construction. Always remain positive and never forget about the little things that surround you, as these are often the ones that will strengthen anything no matter how big or small the structure is.

Take for example the picture to the right... All we see is the huge wire cables and steel eyebars, but those screws that are naked to the eye, are some of the most important parts that are helping this bridge sustain itself.

P.S If you ever run into a person whose foundation might be missing, be patient and remember not everyone builds the same way.

Gentle Persistence.

Are you dealing with someone who just won't open up to you? Are you tired of wondering what he/she is thinking? Sometimes we have to be the ones to open up the conversation and invite people in. No matter how mad it makes us and no matter how many times we have tried. The key to getting people interested in you is by becoming interested in them. Take some time to focus on what he/she is doing. Ask about them and learn about them.. this will help make people feel interesting to you and will start to open up more and more.

Practice silence and you will see how much that person has to say.

11/27

Be thankful everyday.

#notjustonthanksgiving

What are you thankful for?

Different Paths.

Only you know your plans. Only you know where you are headed. Do not let anyone or anything change your path. There will be people in your life who might want to bring you down, but you have to remember that just because they once fell and never got up, it does not mean you have to let them drag you down with them.

Be strong and smart to realize that you are your own person, therefore, you are in charge of steering the wheel.

Most importantly... be confident in the path that you have chosen!

You define yourself.

Those days when you find yourself thinking about the past. Those days when you think about how you could of done things differently. Those days when you come to realize that not everything goes as planned. Those are the days when you need to remind yourself that your past does not define who you are, but it does prepare you to be the person you are working on becoming.

Life is not always easy, but if you take a moment to look at yourself, you will see that every inch of who you are connects to a certain point in your past. Not all memories are sweet, but those that are bitter also count.

Do not let your past define you, let it teach you how to become better so that you can learn to define yourself.

You are stronger today because of yesterday, and you will be even stronger tomorrow because of today.

What is your sunlight?

There always comes a time in our life when we must decide to either keep going or turn on a different direction. Most of the time, people tend to make a turn only because they might feel as if things are not going the way they should. But how do you know if making that turn will make everything better? Shouldn't you take a moment to think of where you were headed in the first place? No matter what people say, motivation is often hard to find. We are not able to just steal motivation from other people, we must first find it ourselves.

First you have to ask yourself whether there is something that is holding you back... and if so, what would happen if you would let go? For example, are you scared that you will not achieve your goal? If that is the case, then you need to find out what you are doing when you are not thinking of failure. Are you hanging out with your significant other or watching your favorite T.V show? Life comes at us so fast, that sometimes we forget the daily things that make us happy. It is within these that we find our motivation... just like the sunlight that wakes us each morning. Focusing on something that makes you happy will slowly but surely help you let go of what was weighting you down.

Find your sunlight.
